The Ear Worms of Quarantine

(See my full playlist link here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6faj34k0o2okUjy3MXn74f?si=sokASy1STXCIoPWP9g97rQ)

Here are a few songs I have been bopping to in self isolation:

Rain On Me-Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande

This is a quarantine bop off of the newly released Lady Gaga album. This light 'feel good' tune is perfect for a pick me up or a morning work-out. The song, although nothing nuance, offers a break for those wanting to unwind and have a little fun.

Cars with the Boom- L'Trimm

If you spend a good amount of time on TikTok, you may have heard this throwback banger. It's a catchy late 80s tune that'll bring you back to the frizzy haired scrunchy days that most of us on TikTok never actually knew. Honestly, I even learned the TikTok dance that accompanies this but I look horrendous doing it.

XS- Rina Sawayama

A feel good tune with a message, Rina Sawayama's XS details materialism with a early 2000's flare. Rina offers us some real grade-A talent on this track and I love it. If you're feeling up for a bop with a message, or even just a bop, check this song out.

Death No More (Смерти Больше Нет)- IC3PEAK

I have to admit, IC3PEAK's music is not for everyone. But this duo's music has some clap back to it. I enjoy their music and they have a lot to say when you look into the lyrics. The Russian group speaks about the politics within Russia and the brutality against those who speak against the government. Truly an interesting group to check out.

Physical- Dua Lipa

Physical comes off of Dua Lipa's sophmore album, "Future Nostalgia," which I highly recommend. Physical gives you that "Olivia-Newton-John-get-moving" energy. They dark intro leading into the thrumming chorus makes you feel like you're about to enter the most epic VHS workout video of your life. (There is even a workout video by Dua with the song.) It is a banger to say the least and an amazing pop hit.

Perdus (Lost)- Angèle

Perdus (Lost) by french artist Angèle is a beautiful song with a soft trap beat behind it. The song gives sad sultry vibes while being able to make one tap their foot. The song, although in French, is easy to listen to for anybody. I highly suggest giving it a listen.

Susie Save Your Love- Allie X, Mitski

Allie X's album "Cape God" is amazing and this is just one of the tracks I think you should listen to. Allie X is not a well known singer, but her talent is top notch especially on this album. I think this song is a great taste-tester for the others on the album which includes synth pop along with soft pieces full of raw emotion. Susie Save Your Love is a little combo capturing a catchy tune and emotive story line.
